SPECIAL EVENTS!
Americans value celebrations. Every month finds us saluting, singing, parading
somewhere in our country. May often brings graduation ceremonies, vacations
to well known tourist sites, and travel to other continents. Often times
our beloved pets are left behind with a neighbor or pet sitter. Today,
a motion has begun to sweep our nation with the idea that pets are family
and need to be included in our vacation plans.
Pet friendly hotels and motels are offering affordable accommodations
for pets. Call Pet Chauffeur and we will be glad to give you the names of
Texas family lodging that will welcome your pets.
So, let's get out there and have our pets enjoy a vacation, too!
May monthly activities include: National Barbecue Month (give your pet
a tasty new treat - remember, no people food!); National Bike Month (take
your pet with you and give him some exercise, too!); National Community
Action Month (get involved with pet care awareness or an animal advocate
group); National Comfort Month (when was the last time you replaced your
pet's outdated bed?), National Photo Month (take a roll of your favorite
pet's pictures and frame them so everyone can see); National Physical Fitness
and Sports Month (time for that walk and take your pet along); Older Americans
Month (share the love your pet gives you!).
May's weekly designated occasions are: First Week - Be Kind to Animals
Week (include your neighbor's pets, even though your lawn was used as a
potty); National Pet Week (honor your pet with some special activity);
National Post Card Week (send a picture of your pet), Emergency Medical
Services Week (say 'Thank You' to your Vets and their assistants); Hurricane
Awareness Week (make sure your make emergency preparations for your pet);
Nursing Home Week (is your pet a candidate for therapy work?)
Every week brings another special celebration. Include your pet and he/she
will return the love many times over.
